Study on the Utilization of C14-Labeled Glucose by Mouse Liver Slices

Abstract
|
|
|
Using the liver tissue slice of the mouse at the temperature of 37.50 C in the atmospheric environments Os consumption, COs production, metabolic rate of glucose and the specific activity of C14glucose were measured by Warburg apparatus and Geiger Counter. At various concentration of medium glucose, following results were observed.
1. The oxidation metabolic rate of glucose gra dually increased until the glucose level of medium reached 150 mg/. Above that level no significant increase was observed.
2. The O2 consumption and C02 production of the tissue remained almost unchanged, regardless of the glucose concentration of medium.
3. QC1402 rose in proportion to the concentration of glucose up to 75 mg/. Above that level there was no difference.
